NYK ARTEMIS, part of Ocean Network Express’ (ONE) PS3 service, made its maiden call at APM Terminals’ Gateway Terminals of India (GTI) on Friday last week, offering connectivity to the Far East Asian ports along with the West Coast ports of Oakland and Los Angeles in the United States. This was the first call by the newly established ONE line to Mumbai’s Nhava Sheva terminal.

The PS3 service, while eastbound, comprises of 11 vessels and calls ports such as Pipavav, Colombo, Port Klang, Singapore, Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Los Angeles and Oakland. On its return, the service connects Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore and Port Klang before calling back at Nhava Sheva.

“We offer our best wishes to Ocean Network Express (ONE) on their maiden call to Nhava Sheva. Truly humbled by the trust bestowed by ONE upon GTI, we look forward to serving the trade together,” said Mr Kamal Jain, CEO, APM Terminals Mumbai, welcoming the vessel.

Nhava Sheva (JN Port) handled a record 4.7 million TEUs in 2017 with APM Terminals Mumbai accounting for 1.96 million TEUs or 42 per cent of the port’s total container volume.
