Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (“APSEZ”), the largest integrated transport utility in India and a part of the diversified Adani Group, today announced that it has achieved the highest exchange of 7078 TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit) at the Kattupalli Port. This exchange was handled on the Vessel MV Cosco Hamburg, which sailed between Kattupalli Port and Thailand & Far East Asia on 19th March 2022.

The weekly mainline service, TE1 (Thailand East India Service) was added to the portfolio of container vessel services at Kattupalli port commencing from Feb ‘2022 connecting Kattupalli port with Thailand and Far East Asia. The service presently has five Vessels in the loop. In another significant event, The Thailand-East India Service has recently shifted its complete call to Kattupalli Port.

“Kattupalli port is honored to achieve this record specially in what has been a challenging year with the pandemic. This is a testament to the ports handling capacity and logistics that shows our capability in handling high volumes” – Spokesperson, APSEZ.

APSEZ has been operating Kattupalli Port since October 2015 and the container volumes handled by the Port have significantly increased since their takeover. The Kattupalli port serves the EXIM trade in the Chennai region and its hinterland as an ideal alternate gateway for seamless movement of import and export cargo.
