Speaking at an event organized by the Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Sunday, Minister Saud said the process has been already initiated for the construction of the Dodhara-Chandani dry port and a four-lane cemented bridge over the Mahakali River.

“The Indian side is also undertaking the works on the Indian side of the border for the same. Kanchanpur carries high potentials for economic and tourism development,” he said.

He also pledged to take initiatives for a smooth movement of people along the Banbasa ridge.

According to the Minister Saud, efforts are underway to establish Nepal-India touristic mechanism for the planned development of this Manashkhand region. “The government is also in touch with the Indian side to build a bridge on the Mahakali River to connect Parashuramdham in Dadeldhura to Purnagiri of India.”

KCCI President as well as former office bearers of KCCI and the business community present in the program apprised Minister Saud of border issues they are facing and issues for touristic and industrial development in the region.
