The Odisha Cabinet approved the EPC tender for constructing a Utility Corridor at Gopalpur for Rs. 128.88 Crores. The cost includes the construction and maintenance of the project during a defect liability period of 5 years and an operation & maintenance period of 10 years.

The State Government has taken a futuristic initiative to cater to the demand of existing and upcoming industries in the Gopalpur Industrial Park for effective and economical logistics.

The project is proposed to be implemented in EPC mode. The EPC Contractor will take up detailed design, engineering, construction and O&M for 10 years. The scope of the work broadly includes a site survey, detailed design, construction of a road, a sleeper for utility pipeline, internal and external infrastructure works, pump house with crane facility, firefighting works, stormwater drain, flyover over PWD road, soil retaining structure, sleeper base, cable trench, SFRC compound wall, landscaping, high mast lights etc.

With the construction of the Utility Corridor, the industrial development in the area will get a tremendous boost. This corridor shall provide seamless and effective operational linkages between TATA Steel Industrial Park and Gopalpur Port.
