Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) said that in November 2024, it handled 36 million metric tons of cargo. It further stated that containers were the main driver of the freight growth, which increased by 21% over the same period the previous year.

Adani Ports handled 293.7 MMT of total cargo year-to-date (YTD), representing a 7% year-over-year increase. The business stated in a regulatory filing that containers, which had a 19% YoY increase, and liquids & gas, which saw a 7% YoY increase, were the main drivers of the expansion.

APSEZ said that their GPWIS volumes increased by 15% YoY to 14.2 MMT, while its YTD November 2024 logistics rail volume increased by 10% YoY to 0.42 million TEUs. In October 2024, APSEZ reported handling 37.9 MMT of freight from the previous month, which kept the corporation inside the glide path for the planned yearly volume. It handled 257.7 MMT of total cargo year-to-date (YTD), an increase of 8% from the previous year.

Adani Ports reported its fiscal second quarter profits earlier in October, showing a 39.90% year-over-year increase in profit to Rs 2,445 crore. According to the statement, the company’s increased cargo volumes and “new capacity additions progressing as planned in Gopalpur, Vizhinjam, and Colombo” were the reasons for the profit gain. The company carried 111 million metric tons of freight during the quarter, which was a 10% YoY increase.
