Motherson has strengthened its presence in the aerospace industry by becoming a Tier 1 supplier to Airbus’ commercial aircraft division. The company, through its subsidiary CIM Tools India signed a multi-year contract to manufacture and deliver aerospace components and assemblies directly to Airbus’ final assembly lines. The supplies will come from Motherson’s specialized aerospace facility in Bengaluru, a company filing said on March 4.

The deal marks a significant expansion of Motherson’s relationship with Airbus, as the company is already a Tier 1 supplier for Airbus Helicopter and Airbus Defence and Space. The management sees this as a strategic win for Motherson, reinforcing its manufacturing capabilities in the high-precision aerospace sector.

Motherson’s aerospace division operates 16 facilities across four countries, supplying key components for major aircraft manufacturers. With this latest contract, the company is further positioning itself as a critical player in the global aerospace ecosystem.

The company delivered a strong performance in Q3FY25, with net profit surging 62 percent year-on-year to Rs 879 crore, driven by steady revenue growth and improved operational efficiency. Revenue rose 8 percent YoY to Rs 27,666 crore, though it fell short of estimates pegged at Rs 29,371 crore. EBITDA grew 13 percent YoY to Rs 2,687.4 crore, aligning closely with expectations of Rs 2,698 crore, while margins expanded to 9.7 percent from 9.2 percent a year ago, surpassing forecasts.
