Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL), a flagship asset of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ), announced a historic milestone in cargo operations, handling its highest-ever single-day cargo volume of 1,32,800 Metric Tonnes (MT). This achievement surpasses the previous record of 1,31,966 MT, highlighting the port’s continuous drive for operational excellence and efficiency.

The new record was achieved through the collaborative effort of the port’s operations, logistics, and engineering teams, underpinned by its advanced mechanized systems. AKPL also records its highest-ever monthly fertilizer cargo, reinforcing its role as a key gateway for agricultural imports and operational excellence.

Key Milestones Achieved:

 * Single-Day Cargo Record: 1,32,800 MT handled.

 * Highest Monthly Fertilizer Cargo: 0.43 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) handled, significantly exceeding the previous record of 0.36 MMT achieved.

AKPL’s state-of-the-art Automated Fertilizer Handling System ensured quick turnaround times for vessels, enabling fertilizers to reach farmers promptly. The port’s superior rail and road connectivity further facilitated seamless nationwide distribution, supporting initiatives by the Government of India and the Government of Andhra Pradesh to empower the farming community.

Speaking on the occasion, Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited management said, “This new benchmark of 1,32,800 MT in a single day is a testament to the dedication of our team and the power of our technology. The mechanized systems have been instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency while simultaneously ensuring reduced emissions and a faster supply chain for our customers. We are proud to contribute to the nation’s trade growth.” The dual milestones in cargo handling, particularly the record monthly volume for fertilizer cargo, underscore AKPL’s pivotal role in supporting India’s agricultural sector by ensuring timely and efficient movement of critical commodities. AKPL continues to reinforce its position as a critical hub for fertilizer imports and distribution on India’s east coast, playing an essential role in boosting agricultural productivity and promoting rural development.
