Allcargo Logistics is expanding its logistics support for textile businesses in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, and Surat, Gujarat, as manufacturers and traders in the two clusters seek access to wider markets and more efficient distribution networks.

The logistics company said its Domestic Supply Chain, Express Distribution and Consultative Logistics businesses are supporting textile MSMEs by connecting manufacturing centres with consumption markets across India. The focus includes improving shipment reliability, expanding distribution reach and providing greater visibility across supply chains.

Mau and Surat represent two different segments of India’s textile industry. Mau has a longstanding saree and handloom ecosystem, while Surat is a major centre for textile manufacturing, processing and distribution. Businesses in both clusters are increasingly looking beyond their traditional regional markets, making nationwide logistics connectivity more relevant to their expansion plans.

Ketan Kulkarni, Managing Director & CEO, Allcargo Logistics, said, “India’s textile clusters reflect the diversity of the country’s MSME ecosystem, from traditional weaving and saree-making communities to large-scale manufacturing hubs. As per IBEF, 100% FDI permitted in the Indian textile sector, the industry is well positioned for further expansion. As these businesses expand beyond their traditional markets, logistics needs to evolve alongside them. Our approach is centered on understanding these evolving requirements and translating them into better service quality, reach, reliability and visibility. Through our integrated capabilities, we aim to help textile businesses strengthen customer relationships, access new markets and build supply chains that are agile enough to support sustained growth.”

Allcargo expands distribution coverage

According to the company, its Allcargo Extended Reach (AER) network currently covers 100% of India’s serviceable PIN codes. The number of mapped PIN codes has increased from 21,000 to more than 32,000, while directly serviceable PIN codes have risen from 4,900 to over 10,000 through Allcargo Distribution Centres.

The company has also increased the number of transshipment centres from 21 to 71. These facilities are intended to support movement between production clusters and markets across different parts of the country.

For textile businesses in Mau, wider distribution coverage can support shipments to markets outside the region, including Tier II, III and IV cities. Surat’s larger manufacturing ecosystem, meanwhile, requires logistics networks capable of handling higher shipment volumes across a geographically dispersed customer base.

Logistics becomes a key factor for textile MSMEs

The expansion of textile businesses beyond established clusters is increasing the importance of distribution infrastructure, shipment visibility and delivery reliability.

For smaller manufacturers and traders, access to a wider logistics network can reduce the operational constraints associated with serving customers in distant markets. For larger textile manufacturing centres such as Surat, network density and shipment tracking can help manage the movement of goods across multiple destinations.

As India’s textile supply chains become more integrated across regions, logistics infrastructure is expected to remain an important operational factor for businesses seeking to expand their domestic and international market presence.
