Port of Rotterdam Authority has engaged Amlan Bora, as Chief Representative for India and South Asia. This engagement via Dhanoni Advisory LLP, will help the port of Rotterdam, and consequently the Netherlands, to develop stronger and more meaningful partnerships with India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, with the aim of creating resilient and efficient supply chains between these countries and Western Europe via Rotterdam. The appointment is in line with the ambition of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen ties with countries in this area, especially India.

Amlan Bora will support Port of Rotterdam Authority and its stakeholders in Rotterdam, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in establishing equitable supply chains for cargo and bulk as well as new energy molecules, such as hydrogen carriers. It also applies to the Port Authority’s efforts to explore business synergies around critical raw materials between Europe and South Asia. India is rapidly emerging as a key player in the global hydrogen economy and critical raw materials market, driven by ambitious policy initiatives and strategic investments. Amlan Bora operates from the Ahmedabad office of Dhanoni in the state of Gujarat in India. Gujarat, being one of the key maritime states of India, has a long partnership with Port of Rotterdam Authority and is the home to many Dutch investments in various sectors.

Amlan Bora is an experienced global supply chain professional having worked in major multinationals like Siemens, Philips, Diageo in progressively senior positions. Prior to his current position Amlan Bora was the Chief Representative and Trade & Investment Commissioner of the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSO) in India. The NBSOs are trade offices managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Dutch Government.

Having spent many years of his life in India, Amlan Bora is deeply connected to and committed to the development of India and serves as an advisor to several non-profit organisations in India and abroad. Outside of his professional commitments, Amlan Bora is passionate about education and social upliftment, and occasionally delivers lectures at leading Indian and international universities.
