The Andhra Pradesh state government has requested the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways for restructuring of Bhavanapadu Port (Mulapeta), Ramayapatnam Port, and Machilipatnam Port projects, exploring the possibility of funding them under special assistance to states for capital investment under PM GatiShakti.

In addition, the state government along with the Visakhapatnam Port Authority have submitted 29 development proposals to the Ministry of Shipping, which include coastal berth, fish landing centers valued at 3300 cr, under the Sagarmala scheme. About 13 projects in Andhra Pradesh valued at Rs.2500 Cr are receiving financial assistance under Sagarmala. These projects include Ro-Pax and passenger jetty, fishing harbour, port modernisation and skill development.
