As environmental consciousness surrounding ship recycling continues to grow, an increase in ships arriving at India’s recycling yards is anticipated. Ship recycling is an environmentally responsible practice that optimizes the use of ship components through systematic dismantling and salvaging of valuable metals. The reprocessing of steel and other materials for industrial applications highlights the importance of expanding awareness in this sector for its future viability.

In this context, Bansal Group India of Gujarat has emerged as a noteworthy player, earning accolades for its professionalism and attention to detail in ship recycling. Their dedication to quality workmanship and safety protocols has made them a recognized name among global ship recycling companies. Bansal Group’s commitment to safe operations is further validated by multiple industry certifications.

On January 23, 2025, T K Ramachandran, Secretary of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, and Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairman of Deendayal Port Trust, had the opportunity to visit the Bansal ship recycling yard. Rubal Bansal provided a detailed overview of the intricacies associated with ship recycling and engaged with the workforce in Alang during this visit.

When implemented effectively, ship recycling serves to diminish pollution levels and promote a cleaner environment while contributing to national economic growth. Bansal Group is unwavering in its commitment to providing a safe and clean workplace, reflecting their desire to contribute to societal well-being. All ship recycling efforts are conducted in line with national and international standards, ensuring no environmental harm occurs.

The adoption of regulations such as the Hong Kong Convention and EU Ship Recycling Regulations points to their dedication to maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste. Bansal Group places high value on training, worker welfare, and environmental protection, educating all stakeholders about sustainable ship recycling practices that benefit both the environment and society as a whole.
