Boskalis’ diving support vessel BOKA Da Vinci has completed a specialised subsea campaign in the northern North Sea, delivering key infrastructure for an INEOS‑led carbon capture and storage (CCS) project at the Nini oil and gas field offshore Denmark.

Working for INEOS as part of Project Greensand, Boskalis Subsea Services deployed saturation divers and a remotely operated vehicle to install a dynamic hose fitted with 49 buoyancy modules on the seabed in less than a month. After the dynamic hose was in place, the team positioned a pipeline end manifold with subsea precision before installing a static hose in two separate sections, completing the core subsea scope.

The new subsea layout will enable CO₂ captured onshore to be transported by a dedicated bulk carrier to the Nini field, where the vessel will connect to the dynamic hose installed by Boskalis. Through this hose‑and‑manifold system, CO₂ will be injected into the depleted field for long‑term storage, supporting Denmark’s first full‑scale offshore CO₂ storage ambitions under Project Greensand.

Boskalis said the campaign demonstrates how its established subsea decommissioning, inspection, repair and maintenance expertise can be repurposed to support emerging CCS and energy‑transition infrastructure in the North Sea.
