Flags off maiden container train service from ICD Loni, Uttar Pradesh to Hindalco Industries Limited’s plant in Mahan, Madhya Pradesh

Loni, India, March 26, 2018: Global trade enabler DP World operated Container Rail Road Service (CRRS) in partnership with leading freight forwarder Pinkcity Logistics, flagged off their maiden train service from ICD Loni, Uttar Pradesh to Hindalco Industries Limited’s plant in Mahan, Madhya Pradesh. The new service aims to enhance connectivity from the hinterland to Gateway ports by carrying empty export containers to link containerized export cargo from the plant to the ships arriving at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT).

DP World Intermodal and Pinkcity Logistics have been partners in the logistics supply chain and have been handling container rail movement from Hindalco’s plant at Renukoot, Eastern Uttar Pradesh. This new alliance has further strengthened their long-standing relationship.

Mr. Rajat Duneja, COO – CRRS, Mr. Ajay Khera, Group President – Worlds Window Group and Mr. Ratul Banarjee, Vice President – Pink City Logistics, flagged off this train. Other dignitaries present were Mr. Mohit Shrivastav, Branch Manager – Delhi NCR, Pinkcity Logistics, Mr. Dhirendra Kishore, Vice President – World Window Group, Mr. Amit Parashar, Regional Manager – CRRS, Mr. Sunil Dutt, CRRS and Mr. Sachin Kumar, CRRS.

Speaking on this achievement Mr. Chandrashekhar Pitre, Regional Head, Commercial & Marketing, DP World Subcontinent said, “At DP World, it is our constant endeavour to provide efficient and reliable flow of goods and services to complement the supply chain of our customers. This new service is an example of our commitment to strengthen port- hinterland connectivity to facilitate ease of doing business, enhance efficiency in the supply chain and to introduce tailor-made solutions to support the strategic growth ambitions of our customers.”
Through CRRS, DP World continuously works towards providing supply chain solutions that enhance reliability within the trade community and work as a catalyst towards increasing rail volumes. They provide value added services ‘beyond the terminal gates’ into the customers’ logistics supply chain across India’s vast hinterland and enable seamless connectivity with faster connections. CRRS carries both EXIM and domestic container traffic and hosts an extensive business portfolio, which includes services like block train solutions and other tailor made solutions according to the customers need.
