Amidst the registration process at its peak, the Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI), a very important member of International Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA) has launched effective marketing exercise in different parts of India and abroad to script an astounding success story of the forthcoming FIATA World Congress 2018 that is scheduled to take place at Aerocity in New Delhi from September 26-30, for the first time in India.

On April 17 the National Association of Freight & Logistics (NAFL-UAE) welcomed the Indian delegation of FFFAI at the Dubai World Trade Club. The Geneva-based International Freight Forwarders Association represents more than 40,000 companies in the industry worldwide and FFFAI delegates headed by Chairman Mr Ashish Pednekar showed them economic opportunities available in the country which is fast becoming one of the world’s biggest economies. Apart from Mrs. Nadia Abdul Aziz, President NAFL and Mr. Shankar Subramoniam, ED, NA FL the FFFAI Team also had detailed meetings with representatives from Abu Dhabi Airport and leading freight forwarding & logistics companies based in UAE.

Earlier, on April 6 Mr Pednekar made a presentation to promote Indian Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders and “FWC-2018” at “Global Logistics Summit” organised by FICCI in association with Ministry of Commerce & Industry, World Bank, FFFAI and other trade associations in New Delhi. Commerce Minister Mr Suresh Prabhu was the Chief Guest of this Summit. In his speech Mr Pednekar urged for effective collaboration among the logistics industry stakeholders and government/government agencies to secure highest position in global trade & commerce as well as logistics markets. “It is highly commendable that during last couple of years the government has taken some land mark initiatives to facilitate India’s export/import trade. Initiatives like DPD, AEO (Authorised Economic Operators), Skill India, GST, etc would be very effective in strengthening foreign trade and economy at large,” Mr Pednekar maintained. He also highlighted the pivotal role of Indian Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders and Logistics practitioners in enhancing the foreign trade. Mr Pednekar shared that FFFAI has been working closely with the government and other industry bodies for facilitating foreign trade. “We are organizing FIATA World Congress for the first time in India, which will be held from September 26-30, 2018 in Aerocity, New Delhi. This first international logistics conference in India will be attended by 1500 delegates from across India and overseas countries including logistics professionals, different ministries, government organizations, experts, manufacturers, exporters/importers and corporate houses.

With the Theme: “Future Starts Here” the conference will be huge opportunity to showcase brand India,” he shared. Significantly, there were remarkable queries and interests witnessed among the Indian and international delegates of this summit, consisting of logistics professionals, manufacturers, exporters, govt. organizations, experts and academicians.
