Hambantota International Port (HIP) successfully facilitated a call by HNoMS Roald Amundsen, a Fridtjof Nansen-class frigate of the Royal Norwegian Navy, which arrived at the port on 10th June 2025 and departed the following day on 11th June 2025. The frigate called at HIP for bunkering and garbage off-landing services, highlighting the port’s growing reputation as a dependable and efficient service hub for both commercial and naval vessels operating in the region.

HIP’s secure infrastructure, deep-water capabilities, and streamlined marine services continue to position it as a strategic location for international maritime traffic, including navy vessels from around the world. The management of Hambantota International Port is pleased to have extended its services to the Royal Norwegian Navy and remains committed to supporting global maritime operations through high standards of safety and efficiency.
