This was a part of the road shows being conducted across the country by various organizations at the instance of the government as a prelude to India Maritime Week 2025.

Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal graced the occasion as chief guest and spoke at length about the various programs launched by the government during the last 11 years which catapulted the logistics sector into the limelight. He lauded FFFAI and IMC for organizing the Road Show, which is crucial for charting a roadmap for India’s expanding role in global commerce, especially amidst geopolitical changes.

He explained the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in unlocking the maritime sector’s true power with a planned investment of Rs 80 lakh crores and a huge focus on making India a global shipbuilding hub. He requested the delegates to participate in the India Maritime Week being held at Mumbai from 27th to 31st October 2025. The minister’s esteemed presence, insightful deliberations, and thoughtful perspectives have greatly enriched the success of the roadshow.

Geopolitically speaking, on the occasion, Devki Nandan, Chairman, IMC, explained the robust economic fundamentals of India, which will catalyze the growth of infrastructure in India, and the transformative reforms taken up by the government, boosting maritime growth in India.

He also explained the genesis and achievements of the Indian Maritime Centre in a short span of one year and the crucial role it is going to play in achieving the vision of Maritime India Vision: 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kal Vision: 2047. He also gave an introduction to the India Maritime Week planned by the government. Capt. Vikas Vij, Director of IMC, spoke on Sea Logistics (Exim and Domestic), explaining how to ensure India’s trade flows remain robust and diversified in the context of various geopolitical disruptions.

The newly elected Chairman of FFFAI, Amit Kamat, and Shankar Shinde, Past Chairman of FFFAI and Vice Chairman/Director of IMC along with other office bearers of FFFAI, spoke on the occasion.
