JSW Infrastructure, part of JSW Group, posted an 8.2% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to ₹357.6 crore for the first quarter of FY2027, even as revenue and operating earnings grew in double digits. Revenue from operations rose 18.1% to ₹1,444.8 crore, up from ₹1,223.8 crore a year earlier. EBITDA climbed 15.9% to ₹673.7 crore, though margin narrowed to 46.6% from 47.5%.

What drove cargo and revenue growth

The company handled 31 million tonnes of cargo in the quarter, a 6% year-on-year rise, led by Jaigarh Port on higher anchor customer volumes and third-party throughput. Dharamtar Port, South West Port, Ennore Bulk Terminal, and interim Tuticorin Terminal operations added to the gains, though lower Fujairah Liquid Terminal volumes, hit by a tough West Asia operating environment, offset part of the growth. Ports business revenue rose 11% to ₹1,208 crore.

Key operational milestones

JSW Infrastructure expanded capacity at South West Port, Goa, and Mangalore Container Terminal, started interim operations at Kolkata Container Terminal, launched commercial operations at Arakkonam GCT, and secured environmental clearance and rail connectivity approval for the Murbe Port project in Maharashtra. It also completed a ₹7,503 crore QIP and earned a Moody’s Baa3 investment-grade rating with Stable Outlook.

Guidance and expansion plans

The company targets FY2027 operating revenue of ₹6,850 crore and EBITDA of ₹3,000 crore, aiming to scale capacity to 400 MTPA by FY2030 from 186 MTPA, backed by ₹30,000 crore in port capex and ₹9,000 crore for logistics expansion. As of June 30, 2026, gross debt stood at ₹7,094 crore against cash reserves of ₹9,863 crore, giving a net cash position of ₹2,769 crore. Shares closed 0.85% lower at ₹345.50 on the NSE Tuesday.
