Kamarajar Port Limited has entered into a long-term agreement with Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd. to facilitate the export of commercial vehicles through its General Cargo Berth, strengthening the port’s role in India’s automotive export logistics chain.

What does the agreement between Kamarajar Port and Isuzu Motors involve?

Under the five-year agreement, Isuzu Motors India will benefit from concessional wharfage rates linked to export volumes, offering the automaker a cost-efficient pathway for shipping commercial vehicles through Kamarajar Port. The arrangement reinforces the port’s focus on delivering efficient, customer-centric and globally competitive services to its trade partners.

What did Kamarajar Port say about the partnership?

Announcing the development, Kamarajar Port Limited said it was pleased to formalise the long-term agreement with Isuzu Motors India for commercial vehicle exports through its General Cargo Berth, describing it as part of the port’s broader commitment to supporting export-oriented industries with tailored, volume-linked pricing structures.

What does this mean for Kamarajar Port’s cargo profile?

The agreement adds to Kamarajar Port’s growing portfolio of vehicle export operations, positioning the General Cargo Berth as a key facility for automotive shipments and reflecting the port’s ongoing efforts to attract long-term, volume-based partnerships with global manufacturers operating out of Tamil Nadu’s industrial corridor.
