Lynk Multimodal Pvt. Ltd. has commenced the movement of 96 TEUs of Refined Mustard Oil from KRIG (New Khari Road), Kutch, Gujarat, to Haldia, for Gokul Agro Resources Ltd, marking a new chapter in efficient, sustainable domestic logistics.

The cargo was carried in a rake of 48 BLSS wagons, strengthening containerized domestic rail transportation and enabling seamless distribution of edible oil across Eastern and North-Eastern India. The movement offers a more efficient, reliable and sustainable way to connect production centres with consumption markets, reflecting the growing role of rail-based container transport in India’s domestic supply chains.

On the occasion, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP) Kolkata Chairman Rathendra Raman congratulated all trade partners, officers, employees and unions involved in the achievement, recognising the coordinated effort behind bringing a long-haul, cross-country rail movement of this scale to Haldia.

The shipment underscores the increasing preference among edible oil producers and distributors for rail-based multimodal logistics over conventional road transport, particularly for long-distance movements connecting western production hubs like Kutch with eastern and north-eastern consumption markets. Such movements are expected to help reduce transportation costs, ease road congestion and lower the carbon footprint associated with bulk edible oil distribution across the country.
