AVA Premier League 1 e1524642341961

The 1st edition of “AVA Premier League” was successfully organized and concluded on Sunday night at the picturesque Police Gymkhana at Marine Drive.

What was initially planned as fun and frolic and carnival cricket, turned out to be a fiercely competitive tournament with each participating team trying hard to out smart the other with their cricketing skills.

It was a bright sunny Saturday morning when it all started. 16 participating teams, all attired in their own colorful team jersey assembled on the ground and got down to some serious warm up session as any professional team would do. This probably set the tone for things to come.

The tournament was declared open by Ex Indian cricketer and chairman of National selection committee Mr Kiran More. Mr More not only tossed the coin for the 1st match between Polycab and Yang Ming Lines but also watched the proceedings for a while before he left for his next engagement.

The games were really played in true spirit with none of the teams willing to give an inch to their opponents. There were many closely fought matches. MSC managed to edge past PIL by a small margin. Jet Airways had to resort to super over to get past Emirates lines in an exciting thriller. Ultimately it was MSC which reigned supreme and lifted the trophy.

The entire event was appreciated by one and all and each participating team is already looking forward to the next league. There was abundance of food and drinks to go with the entertainment. There was a commentary team which kept the interest alive at all times with their witty and humorous remarks. The participants enjoyed it, the families loved it and AVA Global enjoyed being a wonderful host.
