MV Lefkada has successfully berthed at Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, carrying a consignment of 40,000 metric tonnes of coal for Agarwal Coal Corporation, marking a significant cargo movement in the port’s coal-handling operations. The vessel arrived at the port to deliver a bulk coal cargo for power generation and industrial use, underscoring the port’s role in supporting India’s energy security and industrial supply chains.

Deendayal Port, Kandla, is one of India’s premier major ports on the west coast, known for handling diverse cargo, including coal, petroleum products, containers and general cargo, with robust infrastructure for bulk cargo operations. The arrival of MV Lefkada with this substantial coal consignment reinforces the port’s continued activity in bulk cargo handling and its strategic importance in facilitating coal imports for domestic energy and manufacturing needs.
