awaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) welcomed a senior delegation from Nepal’s Consulate General, led by Consul General Jhakka Prasad Acharya and three officials, to deepen India-Nepal maritime ties and bilateral trade.

Hosted by JNPA Chairperson Shri Gaurav Dayal, IAS, and senior team, the group received a detailed briefing on the port’s cutting-edge infrastructure, cargo operations, and role in India’s global trade.

Talks spotlighted the ambitious Vadhvan Port project—a major greenfield development to ramp up capacity, cut logistics costs, and integrate regional supply chains, offering Nepal better access as a landlocked neighbor.

The visitors toured advanced container terminals, digital systems, and efficient cargo handling, gaining insights into JNPA’s supply chain strengths .

Discussions emphasized multimodal links and collaboration to streamline Nepal’s trade via Indian ports, aligning with India’s maritime hub ambitions.
