Nhava Sheva India Gateway Terminal (NSIGT)
About NSIGT
NSIGT is a container terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva), India, operated by DP World. It has a design capacity of 0.8 million TEUs per annum and handled 1.09 million TEUs in FY25.
NSIGT is among the most technologically advanced and efficient container facilities in South Asia. Located within the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) complex in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, it is a critical link in India’s maritime trade infrastructure. NSIGT was commissioned in July 2016 as a standalone container terminal with a 330 m quay and a design capacity of about 0.8 million TEUs per year, under a 30-year concession agreement with JNPA through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. DP World, a global leader in supply chain solutions, operates it. NSIGT is a preferred call for major global alliances (2M, Ocean Alliance, and THE Alliance) due to its deep draft and high-speed cranes. Regular calls from the MINA (South Asia-Med) and IEX (India-Europe Express) services. Strong connectivity to China and Southeast Asia via the CCX and CI3 services. Frequent links to Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi through regional feeder and mainline loops. A major update in 2026 is when JNPA has approved a plan to merge NSICT and NSIGT into a single Terminal by 2031. The merger will create a 930-metre-long continuous berth.
