The Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT), located in the Kutch district of Gujarat, serves as India’s premier gateway to the industrial clusters of North and Northwest India. Established as the first private container terminal at Mundra Port, it has evolved into a multimodal hub. MICT is a standalone DP World facility that enables seamless integration with DP World’s extensive network of inland terminals and feeder services. It commenced operations in July 2003 and was originally developed and operated by P&O Ports. In 2006, following DP World’s global acquisition of P&O Ports, the terminal’s management transitioned to DP World. In August 2025 alone, it handled a record 142,273 TEUs. MICT is a preferred call for major global carriers, including Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, COSCO, and ONE. It offers over 35 weekly services connecting India to the Far East, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the US East Coast.
