Chairman of Indian Maritime Centre

Rahul Modi has taken over as Chairman of the Indian Maritime Centre (IMC) in the presence of Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal in Mumbai on October 2, 2026.

Modi was elected Chairman at the 12th meeting of the IMC Board of Directors on September 22, 2026. Maneesh Pradhan was elected Vice Chairman at the same meeting.

Leadership changes at IMC

Modi is President of the Coastal Container Transporters Association (CCTA) and a member of the National Shipping Board. He succeeds Devki Nandan as Chairman of the IMC.

Pradhan is Chairman of the Maritime Association of Ship Owners and Ship Agents (MASSA) and Chief Operating Officer of Synergy Marine Group. He succeeds Shankar Shinde as Vice Chairman.

IMC reviews progress and operational requirements

On October 2, Sonowal chaired a review meeting of the Indian Maritime Centre to assess its progress, future plans and operational requirements.

The meeting followed the change in leadership at the industry body, with Modi and Pradhan assuming their respective positions.
