VOC Port has created a new milestone with the successful handling of 103 windmill blades in a single ship on 11.11.2025, marking the first time such a large number of blades has been handled at the Port. This achievement surpasses the earlier record of 101 blades exported on 22.08.2025, setting a new benchmark in renewable energy cargo handling.

Marking a new milestone in sustainable trade, the Port has achieved a total handling of 2300 windmill blades up to October, 2025, in the current financial year 2025–26, registering a 61% increase over the 1425 blades handled up to the month of October in the previous financial year 2024-25. The blades shipped through the vessel MV GHT MARINAS arrived from port of Qinzhou, China. The shipment are being handled at Additional Berth-II with two harbour mobile cranes ensuring safe and efficient handling. The Vessel Agency, Stevedoring, Custom House Agent, and Ground Transportation are being handled by NTC Logistics India Pvt. Ltd.

Blades of 89.5 m and 76.8 m length require specialized handling and dedicated storage arrangements. The Port has specialized storage infrastructure including a dedicated storage area of 1,00,000 square metres within the customs-notified area and vast area outside to custom bond for accommodating such over-dimensional cargo. Congestion-free Road connectivity and availability of skilled workforce are also key enablers for the historic achievement. Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, stated in his message that the successful handling of 103 windmill blades in a single ship reflects the Port’s efficiency, capability, and commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy mission, and the port is taking every effort to provide the best of its service in handling cargo through VOC Port.
