About JSW MCTPL
JSW MCTPL is a container terminal in Karnataka, India, operated by JSW Mangalore Container Terminal Private Limited. It has an installed capacity of 0.36 million TEUs and handled 0.184 million TEUs in FY25.
As of early 2026, the Mangalore Container Terminal (JSW MCTPL) has consolidated its position as the premier gateway for the Karnataka and Northern Kerala hinterlands. The terminal has evolved from a basic port berth into a high-efficiency, mechanised container hub. The terminal is located at Berth No. 14 of the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) in Panambur, Mangaluru. It is operated by JSW Mangalore Container Terminal Private Limited, a 100% subsidiary of JSW Infrastructure Limited. The terminal was developed through a 30-year concession agreement (signed in 2020) with the New Mangalore Port Authority under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Phase I of the terminal was successfully commissioned in March 2022. JSW MCTPL is a primary call for both global mainline carriers and feeder operators, including Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, and Evergreen. It has a strong focus on the Middle East (Jebel Ali/Doha) and Southeast Asia (Singapore/Port Klang) routes. It handles significant coastal shipping, linking Mangalore to Mundra in the North and Kochi/Tuticorin in the South.

Hinterland connectivity
Rail & road
Primarily services ICD Whitefield and ICD Vemgal (Sattva Logistics). CONCOR plays a critical role by operating regular scheduled container rakes between New Mangalore and Bengaluru. This rail link is the backbone for the export of coffee and heavy machinery from the Karnataka interior. Private operators also utilise the port for specialised bulk-to-container movements (such as cement) using the port’s on-dock rail siding capabilities. In January 2026, Central Warehousing Corporation launched a major integrated service from Mangaluru to Morbi (Gujarat). Adani Logistics uses the terminal to move high-value automotive parts and electronics between Karnataka and its inland hubs in North India. GatewayRail operate scheduled services for the “Bengaluru–Mangaluru” corridor, catering to the heavy machinery and coffee export sectors.
CFS & warehousing
Served by 4 key Container Freight Stations in the Mangaluru-Panambur cluster, including the CWC Mangalore CFS. CWC is a critical facility for JSW MCTPL due to its recent upgrades. This facility is now part of an SPV between CWC, the New Mangalore Port Authority, and the Sagarmala Development Company.
